Another Park Day
First, a pic of her saggy drawers (apparently this girl needs a belt):
Shortly after the pic the pants actually fell down to her knees. :)

Park Day
Addie and I went to the park last week to enjoy the warm weather. We didn't get to really do park days last summer because she was so teeny, so this was really our first trip (other than going with Jason and Luna a couple weekends ago). We went to Julion park, which is just down the road and was nice and quiet. We found a decently shady spot and just sat and watched people for a while.
Here she is yelling at the kids playing in the field at the school:
Then we tried out the swings (I had put in her one once about a month ago, but it was cold and windy so we didn't stay long) and she loved them!
But she was a tired girl that needed her afternoon nap, so here you can see that she's ready to go. :)

Good Day So Far
I've gotten 2 papers graded, checked my email and all my social sites, did the dishes, and made lunch to take to Loren. It's a good day so far. :)

Oh Jaime
I just seem to get myself into a pickle sometimes. Addie and I had gone out shopping this morning for Kadie's baby shower and came home around 11am for a break. I pull up to the house and attempt to open the garage, but the darn thing won't open (even after fiddling with the battery, like that will actually do anything). Because we always park the Subaru in the garage, that's my method of getting in the house -- I don't carry a house key with me unless I drive the Honda. So there I am parked in the driveway with Addie (who's asleep), and no open garage door. Oh well, I can just crawl through the doggie door (which is always left open while we're gone). I yank open the back gate and get ready to crawl through the little door -- only to find that I hadn't opened it before I left. Now what am I going to do? I decide to go back through the gate so I can at least be with Addie, but I've now closed that too -- which latches from the outside. And shortie me can't reach it. I climb on the gate and try, but my weight on the gate pushes against the latch and I can't open it. Great, now I'm stuck in the backyard while Addie's asleep in the car in the driveway and I can't get into my house. I call Loren and ask what I should do. He got me through the gate (reminded me that there are chairs on the back porch) and said I could try to wedge the doggie door open with something. Of course we don't have a toolbox in the car -- just loads of baby stuff, but I did find a pen. Our crappy doggie door had broken about a month ago leaving a small hole where the "lock" used to be. I grab the pen and go for the doggie door again. The pen fits perfect and I'm able to wedge the door open enough to get my fingers underneath (while snapping off a fingernail of course) and slide it out. Finally I was able to crawl through and unlock the front door (the garage door won't open at all). Ugh.

Look Who's Walking!
Addie is officially walking! Of course I can't get a good video of it because she either does it when I don't have the camera, or when I do have the camera she wants it so bad that she just crawls over, since she'd still faster at that. But I at least got this little bit:
She's had some cradle cap for a while so I used the baby oil to loosen it up and comb it out. This was her hair after the baby oil (a bit greasy):
And this was her hair the next morning. :)

Easter
On Saturday Loren, my mom, Addie, and I went to a Valley Bums easter egg hunt at my friend Erika's house. Each mom brought a dozen eggs per kid, and some food so we did a potluck and an egg hunt. Addie wasn't quite sure what to do with the eggs. She was only interested in them after I put them in the basket. But she definitely had a good time. :)
On Sunday Loren, Addie, and I headed out to the farm to have lunch with my dad, Grandma Lola, and Sean and Erin. It was a delicious lunch of course, and then we headed down to see Uncle Gene and Aunt Darcy, cousin Joany and her family, and cousin Jenn and her family, which includes Mr. Finn her 4 month old who I hadn't seen yet! So we go to meet Finn and Jenn was nice enough to trim my bangs while I was there. After that Addie and I mosied down to check out the chickens and calves, which she loved! Then we all headed up to the pond to enjoy the beautiful day for a bit. Here's Addie playing drums on daddy's head:
All in all a pretty lowkey but fun first Easter. :)

Favorite Things: Car Version
I've been meaning to post this forever, but just keep forgetting. It's too overwhelming to try to think of all my faves, so this is the car version -- things that make me smile when I'm in the car. :)
This is my version of Favorite Things, but unlike Oprah I'm not thinking of material items. I was on my way to work yesterday and started thinking of some of the things I love and thought I'd share. This Episode 1 of Jaime's Favorite Things (in no particular order):
This is my version of Favorite Things, but unlike Oprah I'm not thinking of material items. I was on my way to work yesterday and started thinking of some of the things I love and thought I'd share. This Episode 1 of Jaime's Favorite Things (in no particular order):
- Hearing good music on the radio, especially songs I haven't heard in a long time or songs that remind me of someone/something
- The view of the mountains as I drive down Ustick, right before Curtis
- Dancing and singing in the car, even though I'm sure I look ridiculous -- particularly if I can crank it loud (when Addie's not with me) and roll the windows down
- Seeing dogs -- in another car (I especially love when their heads are out the window, they're bouncing all over the place, or when they're too big -- there is someone with this little car that always drives around with 2 Great Danes in the back that looks hilarious), being walked on the sidewalk, or playing in a yard
- Having a great conversation with my hubby while we drive somewhere
- Hearing Addie chat to herself as we drive
- An animal sighting, like a deer or baby ducks
