Quick Update

Unloading the camera as usual, so I thought I'd do a quick update. Addie is sleeping and Hayden is in yelling at dad (not crying, just liking the sound of his voice). :)

I got a few more projects done this week. Here is my flower made with a bit of the remaining yarn I got for Loren's hat. I still need to add beads or a button. No, I didn't make the sweater -- I wish!
I attempted to make Hayden a matching hat with the rest, but it was just too small. This would maybe fit a newborn. So I ripped it all out (Tami, you'd be so proud) and have found a delicious pattern for some fingerless gloves for ME (I rarely knit myself stuff)! Now I'm just fighting with trying to cast both on at the same time (I want to knit them together so I can use as much of the yarn as possible).
I finished Hayden's BSU stuff. I did this hat in a day. I was trying to get a pic - see how helpful Addie is? Don't worry, Hayden is unscathed.
Here's the whole thing! I didn't make it with the intention of putting him in the entire thing (a bit ridiculous) - I just mean them all as separates. But had to take 1 pic just for fun. It is, of course, all too big (I can't seem to make anything that actually fits him!). Better than too small I suppose.
These pants fit pretty good. I just had to get a pic with his belly hanging out. And of course Addie had to be in it. :) I think he totally looks like my brother/dad here.
Last night we hit up the Hyde Park Street Fair. Just to get out of the house. I had a delicious salad and Addie enjoyed the playground (we couldn't get her to leave). Didn't get to do much shopping as it was pretty dark by the time we pryed Addie away from the playground. Planning on going again tomorrow with Jason and Luna. Not sure if we'll get much shopping done then either, but that's okay, cuz who needs to spend money? :) I mainly wanted to do a bit of Christmas shopping. I'm just not into buying all the same old crap from big stores (let's not mention Walmart or Target) -- I'm trying to shop local and do more handmade stuff for Christmas/bdays.

Addie and I went to a birthday party today at Flying Pie. Here's a silly cow hat Addie got to wear.
Hmm, yep, I think the cake was her favorite part. Do you notice her outfit? She had a "normal" outfit on this morning, but I went to a consignment sale and found some pjs -- that she HAD to wear to the party. So yes, she's in a nightgown.

And this is her future husband, Liam, also enjoying his cake.

Home Alone

Pretty sure it's the first time since before I had Hayden. I feel crummy today and of course had plenty of plans for the weekend: Art in the Park, Cassie's housewarming party, Costco, Kyndell's birthday party, cleaning, schoolwork . . . But I'm just being lazy instead. Loren took the kid's to Cassie's to show them off and keep Addie entertained, so here I am. Playing on the computer of course (Ravelry anyone?). :) I decided to take some pics of my recent/current knitting projects, so yet another pic blog.

First I must tell of my recent CraigsList adventures. I've never really posted anything because I don't want to deal with the hassle of having people come look at stuff, so we usually just donate everything. But I've had a few things sitting around that I couldn't personally move and "someone" (tall with muscles) wasn't helping. So I took matters into my own hands. I posted our old very heavy Sony TV (the kind in the fake wood, with the speakers on the sides), our freezer full of rotten meat ("someone" unplugged it), and the garbage can and multiple boxes full of beer bottles ("someone" drank those, but I refuse to throw them away and never made it to the recycling place -- yes, I know it's right down the hill from me). Today = all gone! TV was gone in about a half hour, rotten freezer in 5min, and bottles in a few hours. Who knew. My house is looking better already. Now I need to post a pic of our old entertainment center, and I think we have some old computer junk around here . . .

Of course there were some kid pics on the camera. Love Hayden's face here.
Who loves his new longies!?!
More chill about this pair.
My water web.
A sweater I started for Addie that has been on hold for a while.
Hayden's BSU cardi - just needs a button.
A shawl. Yes, I knit myself a shawl.
BSU pants for Bubba -- need cuffs and drawstring.
My hat I made this spring.
Hat I made for Hayden. Needs a button, but I lost it. Don't think it will even fit him now. Gift stash.
And the kimono to go with the hat, that also won't fit. Gift stash.
Loren's birthday hat. I know it's not his birthday yet, but I couldn't wait. LOVE the yarn. And it's superwash so it won't felt!
Overalls for Bubby that barely fit.
Hat to go with overalls that never fit. Gift stash.
Hayden's mitts I made the day after he was born to keep him from scratching his face.
She's such a goon.
After Daddy tried on his new hat today, Addie wanted a hat. So she grabbed Bubba's "hat" -- aka diaper cover.
My little poser.
Dancin'. She likes me to take pics of her doing different things so she can look at it. Love these pjs - she picked them out at the Youth Ranch. So cute.
Okay, done with pics. Thinking the bed sounds awfully nice. Maybe I'll finish up one of these projects. Or better yet, start a new one . . . ;)

Go Broncos!

Football season has officially begun. Now, I'll admit, I'm not a huge football fan. I don't mind watching it, but I don't get obsessive and often don't understand plays (and sometimes can't even follow the ball). But I like football season because I like getting caught up in the hype (I've always been a Bronco fan, but it's so much more fun now) and I like looking forward to the "date" of a Bronco game -- whether it's with friends and family, or just with my hubby and kiddos. We had a great time last night -- I was sure to put both kids in proper attire and Addie just eats up the attention. We had Ryan and Cassie over for game cheering, a Thai menu (lettuce wraps, curry, and fried bananas with ice cream), beer, and just good company.

Cassie and Addie. Addie was sure to pose with everyone in her cute cheerleading outfit from Pappy.
Uncle Ryan and Addie.
This is her new "mean" face. Kinda. She actually has a much better scowl than this -- this is a bit more cheesy than when she puts in serious effort.
And posing with Duke.
Bubby showed off his school spirit as well.
Look at that face! Don't you just want to squeeze it?
Ah yea, that looks like a man watching football.
Even had on the BSU diaper. My friend Aryn made this for him before he was born. It really doesn't fit so well, but I had to squeeze him in just for one game! :) He looks kinda like he's ready to do some tackling himself. Or maybe sumo wrestling.
There's my cheerleader. I really need to find/make her some pompoms. Who wouldn't cheer with PBR nearby? Check out how creepy Duke looks in the bottom right corner.
Me and my little man. He looks just like Loren here.
Watching the game with Uncle Ryan.
Finishing the night off in style.
Here's to a great season of good food, good beer, and good company. Oh, and I guess some good football. ;)
